Investing.com - Canadian equities started lower on Wednesday. Materials, Information Technology and Health Care were the top losers. Financial and Communication Services indices were up, being the two exceptions.

At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index fell 0.21%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also dropped. The TSX Venture declined 0.69%, while the Smallcap was down by 0.81%.

  • Canadian Western Bank (TSX:CWB): Increased 2.55% or 1.28 points to 51.45
  • RBC (TSX:RY): Climbed 2.02% or 3.16 points to 159.73
