At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index rose 0.42%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture climbed 0.30%, while the Smallcap increased by 0.43%.

  • Ero Copper (TSX:ERO): Increased 2.82% or 0.84 points to 30.65
  • Capstone Mining (TSX:CS): Climbed 2.46% or 0.24 points to 10.00

Top Losers:

  • Labrador Iron Ore (TSX:LIF) Royalty: Declined 3.60% or 1.10 points to 29.42
  • Tilray (TSX:TLRY): Fell 2.12% or 0.05 points to 2.31
  • Winpak (TSX:WPK): Dropped 1.15% or 0.51 points to 43.70

In Commodities Trading:

  • Crude Oil for August delivery increased 0.03 points to 81.77 a barrel.
  • September Brent Oil Contract calm with 0.01% or 0.01 drop to 85.25 a barrel.
  • Gold Futures for August delivery rose 4.70 points to 2,341.30 a troy ounce.

Currency Markets:

  • USD/CAD cruises at 1.26 with a daily range of 1.3677-1.3735.
  • EUR/CAD is stable at 1.46.
  • The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 105.550

Today's main economic event in Canada is the GDP growth, which read 0.3% monthly, as forecasted.
